Smyrna

The Town of Smyrna was established in the mid 1800’s as an agricultural community with many large farms and plantations flourishing in the area. One of the more significant plantations, the Sam Davis Home, is Smyrna’s most historic landmark and is designated as a state historical site.

Smyrna was previously home to Sewart Air Force Base and these military roots are still evident in the area. Although the base closed, Smyrna continued to thrive. This lovely town is a wonderful community in which to call home!

Education
Smyrna students are served through the Rutherford County Board of Education. With numerous schools, children can participate in a wide variety of activities and education opportunities throughout the year.
