Meet Kathy

KathyMy name is Kathy Tyson and I welcome you to Middle Tennessee Real Estate!  Real Estate is challenging and exciting, especially in the middle Tennessee market where we’ve had the fastest job growth rate in the nation!  I bring to my work the determination to guide my clients successfully through the process of buying and selling a home.  My work is always honest and intelligent, and I strive to meet the needs and goals of those I work with.

I am a licensed Realtor and a member of the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors, the Tennessee Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. I am a designated Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation, which is awarded to realtors who meet specified educational and practical experience criteria.  Life keeps me busy, but when I’m with a client they are my top priority.  Together we explore options for great marketing when a home is listed or take the time to find the perfect home for buyers! 

Whale Done 2007I received the Silver Award from Bob Parks Realty, LLC in 2005 and 2006.  In 2005 and 2007, I was named recipient of the Smyrna office’s “Whale Done” Award which recognizes when a person approaches work with a positive attitude.  In 2007, I was honored to receive the company-wide “Whale Done” Award, described as the top honor of the firm.

On a personal level, I’ve been married for over 20 years to Richard.  Together we have two kids we love with all our hearts, though they’ve been known to drive us crazy!  It is an honor to work with children as a leader of a wondeful Girl Scout troop!  In addition, I am the past president of Roy Waldron Elementary School’s PTO.  I dedicate a portion of every commission to the national “Make A Wish Foundation” and the United Way.  In addition, I support the annual “Christmas for the Children” program of middle-Tennessee, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and the American Heart Association.

PLUS, I am a writer for the popular web site Shak & JillBanks.com, and a guest columnist for the Daily News Journal.   I have been a guest blogger at Nashville is Talking and frequently write posts for other real estate sites.

In 2007, the real estate market hiccuped and I took advantage of some down time to publish two books.  The first is for other agents and is called Building a Blog: A Word Press Guide for Real Estate Professionals.  The second book took two years to write and features interviews with family and friends about how life experiences. It’s called Wrinkles: True Stories of Everyday People.

I care about making a difference. I know people trust me to help them with one of the biggest decisions they’ll make in their lifetime and that is something I take very seriously. My customers and clients stay loyal and refer friends & family to me because they know I will always do whatever it takes to make sure everything goes smoothly from beginning to end. I take extreme pride in my work. I won’t tell you just anything to get a listing or a sale, nor will I make up any answer to fit an occasion.
