I’m in Washington DC this week with my brother and sister.  My sister and I went to the Mall area to walk around and I wanted to share this photo!

Life with Kathy T: Open House Tour

March 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’m going to show you the house here, but want you to come and visit in person!  Open today (Sunday, March 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.).

5196 Pebble Creek Dr., Antioch (Canyon Ridge subdivision)

From Nashville, Murfreesboro Road, turn right on Una-Antioch Pike, turn left on Pebble Creek.  Go to top of hill to new houses.  Or turn right on Edge O Lake by McDonalds and KMart, go to end and will circle to Pebble Creek.

I’m throwing the old, stale cookies out so it’s safe to come by!

Life with Kathy T: Jack

March 21, 2009 · 2 Comments

Here’s our neighbor’s dog, Jack.  He likes to wag his bootie.

Yes, I know I have my house slippers on… and ignore the mud on the porch. My daughters went walking after a rain and instead of scraping the mud off in the grass, one of them (I won’t say who) cleaned her shoe on the porch.  ::rollseyes::

Foreclosure Doesn’t Impact Score Like Before

March 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Having a bankruptcy on your financial history is not a good thing, nor is a short-sale.  The worst, though, is having a foreclosure on your credit history.  It’s bad, but maybe not as bad as it seems.

According to the National Association of Realtors, a foreclosure in 2008 or 2009 won’t have the same impact as before.  In fact, there are now companies that offer mortgage repair loans.

One of the country’s largest credit unions Golden 1 has already figured out a way to lend to people with a foreclosure on their record by offering a mortgage repair loan specifically for those who have lost a home to foreclosure and who want to buy a new one.

This is good news for some of my friends who are really struggling in this economy.  It shows there is a light at the end of that long, dark tunnel and they will emerge from it with hard work and a dose of good luck.

A Juicy, Pleasant Plum … and more

March 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

304 Cumberland DriveIsn’t “A Juicy, Pleasant Plum…and more” a much better title than “Open House & New Listing”??  I thought so, too.

As you might have already deduced, I will be holding an open house on Sunday afternoon.  From 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., 1210 Hampton Road Drive in LaVergne will be available for buyers to tour.  This beautiful home has 3359 square feet, PLUS an additional 1088 square foot of basement that’s unfinished.  It has three bedrooms, three baths and is in a beautiful neighborhood.  Come by to say hello!  (Text me if you need directions at 615-491-2161).

In addition, I listed a home in Smyrna yesterday very close to the soccer park off of Sam Davis Road.  My favorite part?  It has FIVE fruit trees including apple, plum, pear, and nectarine.  The photo is of the pear tree in bloom.

Located at 304 Cumberland Drive, the home is available for $128,000.  It has three bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, fenced back yard, covered patio, plenty of parking available, and GORGEOUS landscaping.  I’ll be uploading more information and photos of the home in the next few days, but would be happy to send info by email if you’d like to learn more!

Bob Parks Realty Has Caught the Blog Fever

March 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Snap snap snap.

*Wasn’t there a song about the fever with a finger snapping?

Snap snap snap.

I am absolutely elated to be a part of the latest endeavor of Bob Parks Realty – the company blog site!  We actually have TWO sites.. the main one is called Guide Me Home 2 Nashville.  However, I am writing with some of my colleagues for the Guide Me Home 2 Nashville Rutherford since our office is located in Rutherford County.  We chose that name because we want our buyers and sellers to know that we are right on the border of the Davidson County-Nashville area so of course offer quality service in that area, but a chunk of what we do is in the Rutherford County vicinity.

I invite you to stop by either site (especially the Rutherford site!) and say hello friend.  Give us some feedback, ask questions, and enjoy the reading!

*If the song is before your time… I give you the great Peggy Lee!

Life with Kathy T: Baton Twirling Fundraiser

March 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I spent all day Sunday in Clarksville, Tennessee in front of a Wal Mart store. The store was kind enough to let our baton twirlers ask for donations to help offset some of the costs of twirling.  We raised enough yesterday to pay for Melissa’s team costume and shoes!  Here’s Melissa doing some baby twirling moves…

It was this or I had another video of me driving to a showing explaining I was wearing sneakers because it might be muddy out.  :)   (You’re welcome!)

Life with Kathy T: How Do You Pronounce Antioch?

March 6, 2009 · 2 Comments

Oh happy day – I found out I could upload videos from my Blackjack directly to my computer using a USB cable.  And once this occurred to me, I’ve looked far and wide for a cable.  Found one AND the software – of all places – in my original Blackjack box!  As a result, I’m starting a new series called Life with Kathy T.

Here’s my first video … the one in which I learn it’s important to not shoot video while driving.

How do you pronounce Antioch?
