My Knees are Shaking!

February 28, 2009 · 1 Comment

Deanna Lambert of Channel 4 News (WSMV-TV) in Nashville called me this morning for an interview.  She read my post about the first-time home buyer tax credit on the This is LaVergne blog and wanted to do a feature story about it.

My hair was pinned back because I need a new perm and it just falls when I fix it right now.  I didn’t shave my girl-whiskers this morning (hahaha – if you’re at least 40 years old, you’ll know what I’m talking about).  I wasn’t wearing mascara (but I never do, so whatever).  My stomach was just churning.

We’ll see how it went on the 5:00 o’clock news this evening.  Wish me luck, pray I don’t sound and look like an idiot, and tell me I did great even if it’s really bad.  Positive thoughts!  Good vibes!  Positive thoughts! Good vibes!

Meanwhile, I’ll be at an open house today in Canyon Ridge in Antioch from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Or you can look at all upcoming open houses I’m scheduled to do here.

I just wish my knees would stop shaking!

Rates Dip Again

February 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I just saw this update from the Tennessee Association of Realtors,

A dip in the long-term mortgage rate offered homeowners a refinancing opportunity, according to Freddie Mac, which said average interest on 30-year fixed loans fell to 5.16 percent from 5.25 percent last week. Interest on 15-year fixed loans also declined, slipping to 4.81 percent from 4.92 percent.

While your monthly payment is usually a bit higher, a 15-year loan is definitely the way to go with that great mortgage interest rate!

Open House in Antioch

February 14, 2009 · 1 Comment

My friend Mandi makes fun of me when I say, “Antioch.”  I didn’t grow up in this area – instead as an Air Force brat we’ve lived everywhere from the North, South, and Southwest.  Does Indiana count as Midwest?  If yes, there too!  So I say “AnTeeOck” and she laughs.  Mandi tells me the proper way to say it is “An-Eee-Ock” … That’s where I’ll be this afternoon – Antioch!  You are welcome to say AnTeeOck or AnEeeOck in front of me!

5196 Pebble Creek Drive:  Five Bedrooms, Three baths, almost 2000 square feet (we’re 4 sf away from a ton!), fireplace, and more.  This is a really pretty house and affordable at $189,900.  Seller will pay closing costs to boot!  Come by this afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Directions:  From Nashville, Murfreesboro Rd South, right on Edge O Lake by McDonalds and Kmart, go to end and will circle to Pebble Creek.  House on corner with ginormous OPEN TODAY sign.  I may have Girl Scout cookies for you if you stop by!  :)

1308 Springmore Court: Three bedrooms, two and a half baths, 1737 square feet, $179,900.  Again, builder will pay closing costs.

100 Jackie Lane, Murfreesboro

100 Jackie Lane, Murfreesboro

Murfreesboro is one of the best little cities in Tennessee – lots of shopping, good schools, plenty of jobs to go with the commercial and retail growth.  The only thing better is being able to live just outside city limits so you pay county taxes only, but still living within minutes of all the best Murfreesboro has to offer!

100 Jackie Lane is the perfect house in a wonderful area … come here to see the pictures and read more about this beautiful home!

405 Highland Ave., Smyrna

Smyrna’s charm lies with the ability to walk to downtown, the library, and parks and this home is perfectly located to do just that!  Located in the established Highland Park neighborhood, 405 Highland Avenue could use some TLC but it has lots of space.  If you’re looking for an investment property or if you love the idea of living in a home while updating to your own style and tastes, be sure to come here.  The monthly payment should be just $775 with a good credit score, so time to buy!
