Happy Fourth of July. Independence Day always makes me feel pride in my country, my family, my friends. Though we’ve been experiencing rocky times with housing sales, the economy, gas prices, food prices, etc., we still live in a nation of strength, courage, and democracy.
I salute our flag that has flown proudly over parades, fireworks, tears, laughter. I salute our soldiers, airmen, sailors, and fighters in all branches of the military - thank you for your work. I salute being able to climb onto a tire swing under a shade tree. I salute being able to pop goggles over my eyes and jump into a pool. I salute walking down the aisle of a grocery store and picking up fresh apples, squash, potatoes for our cookout later this afternoon.
I love you, America, and I’m proud to be here.
